Celtro Delivers Satellite and Terrestrial Traffic Optimisation System for Mobile OperatorsPetah Tikva,
In rural and remote locations where fixed landlines are not available, mobile operators use satellite links as part of their backhaul network. Satellite backhaul links are significantly more expensive than terrestrial lines and mobile operators seek effective solutions to optimise bandwidth capacity. The DMT108 reduces the backhaul traffic travelling over the network, saving operators up to 60% of their network expenses. “As mobile services become more bandwidth consuming it’s vital that operators have cost-effective infrastructures in place that can support new technology. Mobile operators therefore require flexible, reliable traffic optimisation solutions to meet their communications needs now and in the long-term,” said Ron Zor, chairman and chief executive officer of Celtro. “The DMT108 enables operators to deliver the quality of service their customers require in remote areas, while reducing operational expenses. The solution is simple to deploy and is easy to maintain and operate.” The compact DMT108 provides a total of up to 8 E1/T1 and 2 fast Ethernet interfaces and enables the reduction of backhaul traffic over a TDM E1/T1 or IP network. The DMT108 serves small and medium capacity BTS sites and low capacity BSC sites. The DMT108 provides premium backhaul traffic optimisation gain of up to 3:1 and reuses the field-proven traffic processing technology of Celtro’s DMT10/40 cellular backhaul products. The solution can be deployed in various mobile network deployment scenarios including TDM and IP satellite/wireline networks. About Celtro Inc. Celtro provides innovative Cellular Backhaul Switching solutions for mobile operators worldwide that improve service delivery and increase network efficiency. The resulting benefits to the operators are increased revenues and improved customer satisfaction, as well as reduced capital and operational expenses. Celtro was established in 2001 as a business unit within ECI Telecom, and in September 2003 was spun-off as an independent, privately owned company and became a member of the ECI Group. Celtro's DynaMate family of Cellular Backhaul Switches have been commercially deployed by 15 leading mobile operators serving over 200 million subscribers in Europe, Africa and Latin America. |
